Digital Photography
Instant gratification is a huge plus when it comes to digital photography. The ability to view your results instantaneously is an unprecedented convenience in the photography world. Not to mention the images are easy to store, and do not need to be developed, eliminating the need for a darkroom and all the chemicals and equipment. Another plus the wide range of editing tools and software available that make it easy for anyone to enhance or alter their digital photos. Digital cameras are easy to use, quick, adaptable, and make photography available to everyone.
Traditional Photography
While digital photography seems to have made film photography practically obsolete, there are those who feel that the images produced digitally still do not measure up to those produced on film. Some of the reasons for this include:
Light: Digital photography is not as forgiving when it comes to overexposure as film.
Color: Because digital images are produced flat and linear and film isn’t, colors blend more naturally on film.
Grain: In some opinions, digital provides too much perfection. There are those who prefer the grainy quality of film, for whatever reasons.
