What is a Drone?
A drone is a miniature aircraft that is piloted by remote control or by an onboard computer. In the past, drones have been used predominately for military operations and other special operations. In recent years, however, commercial versions have been manufactured for consumer use.
Beware of the Law
Once the client provides information regarding the footage and photos they would like, your professional photographer will take care of the rest. For instance, local and state laws need to be researched regarding the use of drones. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) does not allow drones or other model aircraft more than 400 feet above the ground, and they cannot be used within 3 miles of an airport or air traffic control tower. Flying too close to someone’s house and property may also be considered trespassing in some states.
