Why Professional Photographers Are Worth Their Weight In Gold

Photography is fun, but it is a lot more than that. Photography is about talent, skill, training, professional equipment, creativity, vision, lighting, angles, and so much more. Professional photographers have been trained in all of these topics and others, and have experience to back up their training. Focusing on just a single issue, such as angles, can show you why professional photographers are worth their weight in gold.

For Example…

Where you position yourself in relation to your subject is called a camera angle. Taking a photograph from straight on, at eye-level, is usually quite boring. That’s because that is our natural perspective on everything all of the time. That’s why unique camera angles (the angle of your subject within the frame, as well as your position in relation to your subject) can add interest to a picture. It’s important to inspect your subject or landscape and consider what would look more interesting before capturing that vision with your equipment. That’s one important aspect of photography that separates the professional from the amateur.

Capturing Different Perspectives

Making the effort to capture a photo from different perspectives can’t be emphasized enough. Not only will it get your creative juices flowing, it will lead to more interesting photographs. Some examples include:

From above: Photographing subjects from above, or landscapes from higher elevations, is not normally how we see things and, therefore, adds interest to the picture and makes it unique.

From below: When something is photographed from below or from a lower perspective, it will look larger and more grand. Using a perspective closer to the ground will make your subject seem more important.

In Short

In short, don’t take chances with your photographs. Hire a professional and get it done right the first time!
