How Cell Phone Cameras Work
Cell phones take great pictures, but some take better pictures than others. Cell phone cameras are digital cameras, so if you are purchasing a cell phone because you are interested in the camera, there are some things you should know. You should know about CCD and CMOS, PPI, and MP. In other words, you should know how cellphone cameras work, and how to share your pictures (just for good measure).
Tips for Taking Beautiful Photos with Your Smartphone
Every year, smart phones get smarter, and one of their greatest appeals is their ability to take higher quality pictures with each new generation. But, in spite of advanced technology, some of us just can’t seem to make our smartphone take pictures as clearly and beautifully as advertised. Usually, it isn’t just false advertising; capturing beautiful pictures with your smartphone isn’t the same as using a higher-quality professional camera. But with these few tips, you can take advantage of how far smartphone cameras have advanced.
Take Better Smartphone Pics
- Make sure the lens is clean – After being in your pocket all day and you constantly picking it up to talk on the phone or play with an app, the camera on your phone can get dirty with fingerprints or covered with lint. Be sure to wipe the camera lens thoroughly before trying to take pictures.
- Get in close – As powerful as they are, smartphone cameras work best on subjects that are up close. Get as close as you can without the picture itself seeming awkward or out of focus.
- Avoid direct sunlight – With sunlight directly hitting most objects, the exposure on the picture can distort what you were trying to capture. Stand in a position where the sunlight is to the side, not in the subject’s face or beaming directly into your camera’s lens.
- But make sure the subject is well-lit – Whether or outside or inside, however, be sure the subject of your picture is lit well enough to see the details clearly.

Over two thirds of the population make a monthly purchase online, and some people do the majority (if not all) of their Christmas shopping online. If you buy online you make your decision by looking at the photos of the product and reading about its features, as well as reading reviews. If you sell online, the first contact consumers are going to make with your product is via photographs. Make sales with photos of your product using high-quality, remarkable product photography.

For The Beginning Photographer
If you are interested in picture taking, are always looking for unique subjects and interesting angles for your photos, you may be interested in becoming an amateur photographer. Today, iPhones have made it easy to point and click, and they can produce some pretty nice looking pictures, but if you want to use those pictures for other things besides Facebook (photos, book covers, illustrations, etc.) you will need to take your pictures with a decent camera that can give you the right DPI (dots per inch) when reproducing them. So, today we are dedicating our blog to the beginning photographer.
It’s Not About Saying “Cheese” Anymore
Do you remember when you were a kid getting a professional photo taken? The photographer–whether at school or at a professional studio–would position you, comb your hair, and then tell you to “Say cheese!” or “Say pizza!” Even at home, if your mom or dad were going to take a picture of you and your siblings playing, they would make you stop, look at the camera, and say “cheese!” Today, lifestyle photographer has become a popular form of picture taking, and it is not about saying “cheese!” anymore. Lifestyle photography is about the raw and the real. Think the lyrics from the new song by DNC, “Toothbrush”: When you’re standing there in your underwear, and my t-shirt from the night before, with your messed up hair, and your feet still bare…That’s right, the real and the raw.
