What Product Are You Selling?

09-BorgheseOther than a printed description, the most important aspect to marketing your product is a picture of it. There is a reason behind the saying “A picture paints a thousand words.” People look at the images of the product they are in the market for, then read the description, and then look at the image some more. Even if they are not in the market for your particular product, the right image can make them want to buy it! What product are you selling, and what kind of images are you using to sell it?

Here are Some Cool Tips

If you are an amateur photographer or a professional photographer just starting out, or even if you need a professional photographer, knowledge is power, so the following are great things to know:

Angle: Many photographers usually hold or place the camera level with the product they are shooting. Shooting your product from straight on at eye level can be unoriginal and boring. Try some unique angles.

Macro shots: Macro shots are a great way to showcase the details or texture of your product, or just to bring the audience up close and personal. There is something about feeling that close to a product that makes it seem like it’s already yours. It can be a great marketing tool.

Hanging: Although hanging products has been in vogue for some time, there are still ways you can make it seem like a unique concept. For instance, try hanging the product with a belt, an anchor, or other material besides the usual, and keep it in the picture. Also, hanging from an odd location, or hanging the product sideways, or upside down can grab attention.

Background: Don’t discount how a background can add interest to your photo. In many cases plain backgrounds are used to keep the focus on the product. However, a unique background and the right props can give your product personality, and make it more interesting to your audience.
