Every year, smart phones get smarter, and one of their greatest appeals is their ability to take higher quality pictures with each new generation. But, in spite of advanced technology, some of us just can’t seem to make our smartphone take pictures as clearly and beautifully as advertised. Usually, it isn’t just false advertising; capturing beautiful pictures with your smartphone isn’t the same as using a higher-quality professional camera. But with these few tips, you can take advantage of how far smartphone cameras have advanced.
Take Better Smartphone Pics
- Make sure the lens is clean – After being in your pocket all day and you constantly picking it up to talk on the phone or play with an app, the camera on your phone can get dirty with fingerprints or covered with lint. Be sure to wipe the camera lens thoroughly before trying to take pictures.
- Get in close – As powerful as they are, smartphone cameras work best on subjects that are up close. Get as close as you can without the picture itself seeming awkward or out of focus.
- Avoid direct sunlight – With sunlight directly hitting most objects, the exposure on the picture can distort what you were trying to capture. Stand in a position where the sunlight is to the side, not in the subject’s face or beaming directly into your camera’s lens.
- But make sure the subject is well-lit – Whether or outside or inside, however, be sure the subject of your picture is lit well enough to see the details clearly.
